Welcome to day 3 of Tula Pink Month. Today's guest blogger is Kristen Danis of K*D Quilts. Kristen has made some wonderful quilts out of Tula pink fabric and has a wonderful blog (you should definately check it out). She is a fellow Misfit Quilter and has all her trees done for the tree swap already! Shhh don't tell anyone, but guess who is still working on her trees ? (I am half way done and will have them all done by Friday). Take it away Kristen!
Hello everyone! I’m so excited to be here at Craizee Corners. My name is Kristen and I blog over at K*D Quilts (www.kdquilts.blogspot.com) Currently I am president of my local Modern Quilt Guild and am a mommy to an eight month old boy. I used to be a Pre-K teacher but now I am enjoying the SAHM life, sewing and blogging!
When Sha mentioned she was doing a series on Tula Pink I was so thrilled. Tula Pink is one of my favorite designers and I can’t wait to see what beautiful creations have been made with Tula’s gorgeous fabrics. To date I have made two quilts with only Tula Pink prints. (I’m still holding onto my Parisville, I just can’t cut it up yet!)
This is one of my favorite quilts to date. It’s a VERY simple patchwork quilt made up of charm squares from the Plume line. For the backing I used the Fleur De Lis in multi. This is my go to quilt for snuggling on the couch!
My other Tula Pink quilt is my Wonky 9 Patch in Nest. My living room is aqua, green and brown so this was the perfect line to make a couch quilt out of. (I have scraps that I want to make pillows out of….someday they’ll get done!) This quilt is BIG and sits on the couch ready for someone to snuggle under it and watch a movie!
I’m still waiting on the perfect inspiration for my Parisville. Hopefully Sha’s series on Tula Pink will give me the push I need to cut it up! Thanks Sha for having me!
Thanks Kristen for showing us your great quilts. I can't wait to see what you make with Parisville, I know it will be fabulous!
Come back tomorrow for more Tula Pink fun!
