My Bloggers Choice Bundle

Have you seen the Bloggers Choice FQ kits from the Fat Quarter Shop? They are bundles put together by some of our favorite bloggers. I made my SOS quilt from John Adams Bloggers Choice kit.

Ever since then I have wanted to make my own Bloggers Choice kit, ask Kimberly, its been in several emails recently. Then Quokka Quilts announced this great contest! Laura, along with her helpers will be judging a contest to see who has picked out the best Bloggers Choice FQ kit. The winner will get a half yard bundle of their kit!

I immediately knew I had to join in the fun! This week I have been picking out fabric for my Mom's quilt. I am using the Urban Cabin quilt pattern by Atkinson Designs. She wants me to use pink, orange and yellow, so that's what colors have been on my mind this week. I will be using pale colors for Moms quilt, but you know me...I am all about bright colors. So I amped up my color choices and came up with this as my first Bloggers Choice FQ bundle.

1.Bella Solids Fuschia 9900-190
2. Bella Solidsa Yellow 9900-24
3. Bella Solids Orange 9900-80
4. Ooh La La Yellow Cercel De Fleurs DC5203-Yell-D
5. Veranda Sorbet Diamond Tiles 10392-239

12. Crazy for Dots & Stripes II Pink and Orange Dots on White 8172-9
13. Urban Zoology Pink Staggered Owls 10348-10
14. Mimosa Orange Pop Floral Stella-14-Orange
15. Mimosa Orange Pop Ditsy Stella-15-Orange

I am going to take the next few days and try my hand at another kit or 2 before I send in my entry. Note - I decided to stick with this one since I kept going back to the same color combination.

I already know what I would make with this fabulous fabric. I have been wanting to make a zig zag quilt for a while and this is perfect for it. What do you think...too bright? or just right?

Happy Holidays!

The winners are...

It's time to chose the winner of the Nifty Notions Cut For The Cure Rulers for this month!

I used different Mr. Random's this time.

Mr. Random #1 is my oldest son Bryan and he chose #13

Mr. Random #2 is my youngest son Tyler who picked #12 (we he actually answered #13 at first, but that was already picked)

Here's a pic of my 2 Mr. Randoms and my daughter Meagan too. This was taken at Thanksgiving. From left to right is Tyler, Meagan and Bryan. I call them my little stair steps because they are all so close in age (the oldest was 3 years 3 months when the youngest was born and there was 1 in between). And I wouldn't have it any other way!

Congrats to Deb and Ana! I have emailed you both.

As always thanks to Brewer Sewing for sponsoring this giveaway and series.

Where you can find me today!

No I am not hiding out from you, but I am guest blogging today! I am taking part in FatQuarterly's 12 Days of Ruby Star! It is day 11 of the 12 days.

There's 2 IPad cases being shown today. The one I made has a zipper. I have heard from so many followers that they are afraid of making anything with a zipper, but if you follow my directions you will be making them in no time.

I do have to tell you that while I made the IPad case with the Ruby Star fabric, the pictures I took came out blurry for some reason so many of the pics were taken of another IPad case that I made.

What do you think? I just love the fabric Melody sent! Its so soft and the colors and designs are right up my alley.

Here's another version of the IPad case made with some Maxine fabric.

So if Santa is bringing you an IPad this year you can make an IPad case very easily right away :). Speaking of making IPad cases, I still have 1 more to make before Saturday :), it's a good thing they are so easy to make!
