I am a follower. Last year I made a BC quilt in memory of my sister, sold it and donated the proceeds. I am planning to make another one this year. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteHi there. Yup, I'm a follower! There are several breast cancer fundraisers locally, always looking for silent auction items, so winning this would be awesome to put into a donation quilt. Every job I've had, every activity I've been involved in has had survivors and also victims of this nasty disease. One friend in particular is a tremendous inspiration for the courage she showed when she was diagnosed while pregnant. Four years later, she and her son are doing great!
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower!
ReplyDeleteAlthough no breast cancer in my immediate family I lost my father to cancer and my husband is fighting it at the moment!
I have a mammogram next week!!
I am a follower of yours. My sister is a BC survivor for about 5 yrs now. She is always so humbled when we do something for BC awareness.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.
I am a follower! I do not have any family members with breast cancer but several have suffered from other types of cancer. My SIL lost her mother to breast cancer and does the walk every year in her honor.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw this die cut, I thought it would be cool to do some type of quilt to donate to the new Cancer Treatment Center of America they are building here where I live in Newnan, GA.
I am a follower and also a promoter of breast cancer awareness.I am a survivor. Thanks
ReplyDeleteHello! I'm a follower. My Mother had a few scares; but, none turned out to be cancerous. I do not know much about either side of my parent's family medical history; but, as far as I know, no one had breast cancer. But, that doesn't mean anything. Breast cancer can strike anyone at anytime. We should always take care and monitor our own health.
ReplyDeleteI am a follower. I had an aunt die of breast cancer, and now my grandkids other grandmother is fighting it. I made her a breast cancer quilt and it really meant a lot to her. I would love to be able to make another breast cancer quilt with this fabric included in it.
ReplyDeletei'm one of your followers and a 7-year survivor; am currently making a sc awareness wall quilt for a charity auction. i'd like to make a wall hanging for myself, too.
ReplyDeletethanx for the opportunity to win your fq's and ribbon apps!
I'm a follower. I've long no family members to breast cancer, and nobody in my family has been diagnosed with breast cancer. But cancer has definitely struck us, and I've lost quite a few to the disease. So it doesn't matter to me WHAT type of cancer it is, we need to find a cure!

ReplyDeleteI have had so many friends get breast cancer it is scary. I have done this a couple of times but I made up awarness atc style cards that have a pair of pears on them and then checked on the back it says check that pair. somethign you can keep in your wallet and think about as a reminder to do your monthly exams the eariler it is caught the better
I am a follower. Breast cancer awareness month is important to me as my cousin recently had a double mastectomy and it's important to get the word out about this terrible killer. It also reminds me it is time to go get my yearly boob squishing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to enter your giveaway.
Breast Cancer awareness means to me that you need to be aware that you need to take the time to take care of yourself and do regular self exams and follow up with annual exams. We are so lucky to have so much support and help on the subject of breast cancer. I am a regular follower.
ReplyDeleteAlways do the walk here in Melbourne, especially after a friend lost her own battle with colon cancer one year ago.
ReplyDeleteI am a follower and I love how your quilt turned out. Breast cancer awareness to me is a way to honor and remember the women who have fought this disease. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI love your mini quilt and the ribbons entwined is clever. My SIL had breast cancer and thankfully it is in remission. I am a follower. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI would like to be a follower but I don't know how, I'm hoping someone can help me. Thank God I don't have any family or friends that have breast cancer, but I love your mini quilt.
ReplyDeleteI am a follower Sharon.
ReplyDeleteMy DH is a kidney cancer survivor.
Hey Sha,
ReplyDeleteI am a follower of your blog. I have read all the responses to what BCA means to everyone and although it was hard, I did find a smile or two between the tears. It is little things like this that make me understand that I am healing a little each day. I can't believe it has been 11 days since sis took her pink ribbon and left us for the Glory Land. BCA to me means participating in more BCA events. Making my voice heard about the importance of mammograms and self checks. I have ran the race, walked the walk, fought like a girl, and participated in "buddy 5 day", along with numerous other events. I will continue to walk, race, fight and find a new "buddy 5" person to remind to do a self check. My sis left so much behind and I took all of it and promised I would continue the fight for her and others.
While no one in my immediate family has had breast cancer, my husband's grandmother had it (she passed away before we met) and two of my closest girlfriends both have their mothers going through breast cancer treatment at the moment. It's a good thing that as women we are good at persevering in the face of adversity..
ReplyDeleteIt means knowing your body enough to insist on testing. Getting the results and dealing with them. Being alive 6 yrs later, to tell about it. Thanks for the great giveaway! ;->

ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway! BCA means to me trying to do what we can to help find a cure for this most awful disease. It also is a reminder to me to do what I can for myself to prevent getting this disease (mammogram, self exams, etc) and lastly it means to me a time to remember those that we've lost to this terrible disease.
ReplyDeleteThank you for doing this! I love those ribbons. :)
Good Morning Sharon,

I will have to go to your post from yesterday but right now...this very minute I have a young friend, mother of 3 small children undergoing chemo. she just had radiation a few weeks ago, she is given 3 to 5 years to live....so this definitely hits home....and If I had this fabric, I would make her something with it.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Hmm BC is a killer to women, as a women,I always do a check up and take care of my body... I have an insurance that cover BC, need to take early precaution.
ReplyDeleteI have a grandmother who died of breast cancer and at the moment my best friends sister is going through treatment! Lets all press forward to help for a cure!!
ReplyDeleteTo me, BCA means women need to be proactive in their own health. Monthy breast exams, yearly mammograms, visits to the doctor for checkups, exercise, and healthy eating habits. Also, to participate in BCA community activities to show support for the women who have been effected by breast cancer.
ReplyDeleteIt would be so great to win this. I am going on a cancer walk on Sunday to honor my Aunt being 10 years cancer free!
ReplyDeleteI am so sad that I never heard about this blog hop until Thrs. night so now I'm visiting everyone to see thier great projects.
ReplyDeleteYour project is awesome. My MIL is a breast cancer survivor. Hers was a tough fight. It is so scary how quickly you go from diagnosis to operating table with this disease sometimes. She had a partial mastectomy and then had some hard hitting chemo and radiation treatments following that. Sadly, before her chemo treatments were completed she found another lump in the remaining breast but the doctor needed to have her finish the chemo treatments before surgery since she was so close to being done. So, a year later almost to the day of her first, she was back having a 2nd mastectomy and then had to repeat all the radiation and chemo all over again. It was a very hard two years fighting for her to deal with and a lot of emotion that went with it as well as a huge amount of pain and of course, sickness, hair loss, the whole bit you hear of from others. She is thankfully done with all the treatments and has now had reconstructive surgery but has lasting problems from everything. She's got horrible pain in one of her upper arms she had to deal with daily and with that she's also required to wear a compression sleeve that goes from her wrist up to her arm pit. That is no fun at all to do daily and even worse because it's like wearing a thick blanket every day even during 90+ degree weather. But, she's still thankful to be alive even with the pain she has daily.
While she was dealing with all this I had my own scare and had to have two biopsies done myself; one from each breast. That's got to be one of the hardest things to do is to wait for those results. One of the biopsies I had to wait even longer for because the radiologists couldn't agree so they told me it would be another two weeks before I got an answer for that as they had to send it to the Mayo Clinic to get a third opinion. That was a very long two weeks but finally good news came and I was clear from both. I wish everyone was as lucky as I was.
Breast cancer scares me. Two cousins under 35 died from aggressive cancer. My maternal grandmother had it and a close friend had double masect. and years of treatment. Our TV station has "pals for life" where they remind each other to conduct monthly self exam. That's enough - it scares me.
